EUniWell

EUniWell is the European University for Well-Being which has the core mission of pursuing a horizontal, cross-sectoral, knowledge-based approach to advance the ‘Economy of Wellbeing’. It unites 7 European Universities (Leiden University, Linnaeus University, Semmelweis University, University of Birmingham, University of Cologne, University of Florence and University of Nantes) and 102 associate partners in an active learning institution, not only in terms of its educational programmes aiming at delivering critical thinking, intercultural competence, entrepreneurial mind-sets and civic responsibility, but through the internal organizational transformation ambitions at the core of its mission. Peptlab actively participates to EUniWell: to its entrepreneurship education projects and programs, its mobility programs that enable mobility between the seven universities and the possibility of obtaining joint and double degrees.

A.M. Papini coordinats the activities of PeptLab of the University of Florence within the EUniWell project “Sustainable and green upscaling processes for peptide(-based) in vitro diagnostics and cosmeceuticals”, as part of the third round of selected projects in the Well-Being Research Incubator Programme, in collaboration with the University of Cologne (Prof. Ines Neundorf), Semmelweis University (Prof. Istvan Mandity), and the University of Birmingham (Dr. Helen Hook).

PeptLab, representing the University of Florence (Prof. A.M. Papini and Prof. P. Rovero), in collaboration with the University of Cologne (coordinator: Prof. I. Neundorf), Semmelweis University (Prof. I. Mandity), and the University of Birmingham (Dr. H. Hook), was awarded the 5th EUniWell Seed Funding Call (SFC5) for the implementation of the project TTPep – Peptides for Well-being (Technology Transfer of Peptides for the Well-being Economy). The project aims to promote peptides by educating new generations in this emerging field of natural molecules with high impact on health and well-being. Specific training courses, seminars, and workshops will foster knowledge in peptide science, enhancing their value as diagnostic products, pharmaceuticals, and cosmeceuticals—also from a circular economy perspective.
