Toscana Biomarkers s.r.l.
Toscana Biomarkers Srl was founded in 2007 as a Research and Development start-up company, located in the Toscana Life Sciences Foundation Incubator of Tuscany Region, in Siena, and funded by regional Investment Funds. The activities of the company were focused on the discovery and validation of new tests for the diagnosis and monitoring of autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus. In particular, the mission of Toscana Biomarkers was to develop specific peptides as immunological probes for the detection of autoantibodies in patients’ serum, as disease biomarkers. These products were subsequently licensed to diagnostic companies for the development of in vitro tests supporting medical diagnosis.
