Short Biography
Quentin Chenin is a French phd student doing a thesis between the university of Rouen Normandie and the university of Florence. After obtaining his high school diploma in Nancy (2018), he did a bachelor in physic and chemistry at Université de Lorraine, in Nancy (2021). He then enrolled at ENSTIB as an engineer student for 3 years. ENSTIB (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques et Industries du Bois) is a school revolving around the use of wood in multiple domains, such as construction, biology, chemical valorisation… During his engineering years, he worked in collaboration with multiple researchers on the use of hygroscopic materials such as MOF and zeolithes for the passive recuperation of water from the atmosphere (2024). He then obtained his diploma in 2024.
During his studying years, he had the occasion to do multiple laboratory internships, such as photocatalysis depollution of water at ENSIC (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques), assisting a researcher in a Norwegian laboratory at NIBIO (2021) (Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research), and working at LERMAB (2024) (Laboratoire d'Études et de Recherche sur le Matériau Bois) on the development of differents breeds of mushrooms on steam exploded wood.
During these years he was able to obtain skills in multiple domains, such as materials science, biology and biochemistry.
