Shima Siadohoni PhD Student in Chemical Sciences Research project: Design and synthesis of modified peptides of SARS CoV-2 Spike protein to characterize the immune response.
Short biography:
I am a passionate chemist with a strong background in chemical sciences and nanotechnology. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Pure Chemistry at Alzahra University in Tehran, Iran. Later, I pursued a Master's in Nanochemistry at the Iran University of Science and Technology, where my thesis focused on "Simulation, synthesis, and identification of Mn/Mg/Zn metal nano oxides and raffinose-based hydrogels to investigate pharmaceutical and environmental applications." This project aimed to develop innovative nanomaterials and hydrogels with applications in pharmaceutical and environmental science.
In 2024, I received a scholarship to continue my academic journey as a Ph.D. candidate in Chemical Sciences at the University of Florence, Italy. My current research focuses on designing and synthesizing modified peptides of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein to study immune responses, contributing to the broader understanding of viral interactions and vaccine development.
My work reflects a deep commitment to advancing chemistry through innovative research and collaboration. With expertise in nanotechnology and biochemistry, I am dedicated to tackling modern challenges in science and medicine.
